The Adaptive Charlotte Elizabeth Purse

Charlotte Jones has since turned her housebound purse dreams into a globally recognized, high-end brand called Charlotte Elizabeth. Even Princess Meghan Markle wanted a Charlotte Elizabeth purse.

Charlotte Jones had a big dream when she was 13 years old. Her dream was to design the perfect adaptive purse that could be used by anybody, at any time. She achieved her dream of designing the adaptive purse at 17. The purse is famously called the Charlotte Elizabeth Purse. The purse was given the name 'Charlotte,' coined from Charlotte Jones while the later part 'Elizabeth' was coined from the name of the Queen Elizabeth of England.

Here's a bit more background information.

When Charlotte Jones was 16 years old, her health took a downward spiral. She became housebound and had to leave school due to lack of accessibility. Jones was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.

Myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, is a disease that can cause significant loss in physical and cognitive ability. Charlotte Jones started feeling uneasy in her cognitive skills, but she did not give up on expressing herself. She did that with arts.

The postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome causes an increased heart rate when a person goes from laying down to standing up. It can cause a number of issues, like fainting upon standing and extreme fatigue.

Both of Jones’ illnesses are debilitating, but with support from The Prince’s Trust, which helps young people in the United Kingdom launch their own businesses, Charlotte was still able to follow her dream and create the adaptive purse she had always dreamed about, all from her bed and on her fatigued body’s schedule.

Loved by many people across the United Kingdom and beyond, the Charlotte Elizabeth bag has become a major household name. The brand is so lovable.

The Charlotte Elizabeth mission is to inspire everyone, including those with and without a disability alike, to chase their dreams.
