Joy

Once upon a time,

in a home that was

different there lived

a girl named Joy.

Joy was tall but she

felt small. She felt

small because people

people thought of her

and treated her like

she was little.

They didn't treat her

like other 12-year-olds.

They treated her like

she was a 6-year-old.

This was odd. She

knew that she 12,

and not 6.

There were some

people around her

that did treat her

like a 12-year-old.

Her family, friends

and her Granddad.

At least that was

how she always

thought of him.

Twice a month he

would visit her.

And what fun they

would have together!

Her favourite game to

play was to try and

pull his hair. When

he caught her hand

just in time she

would laugh and try

again. So, they'd

continue until it was

time for him to go.

Joy loved her Granddad.

Joy's life was great.

She was like any other

12-year-old. Joy played,

clapped, laughed, loved

her friends and family,

and had fun making

a mess! Like a girl with

a bike she was a girl with

a wheelchair.

Her life had its ups

and downs like any

anyone else. However

she is excited about

heaven! Imagine… she

could walk without

getting tired, and

eat solid food all

the time.

But best of all she

will be with her

heavenly Dad. The

one who has always

and will always care

for her. Who knows,

maybe she'll

play hair pulling

with God.

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4
