In January 2001, the City of Postville was buried in a highly publicized sea of confusion. The city was faced with rapidly changing demographics and complex issues. Seeking direction, the City appointed a surprising candidate, an unknown and local Jewish businessman named Aaron Goldsmith, to its own council. In a short time, Aaron was elevated from obscurity to national prominence. Aaron invited all of the town to dare and dream together about what could be accomplished if everyone worked together. In a few short years, Postville transitioned from a sea of confusion to a model of the future.

Aaron's key success came from his ability to educate, breaking down barriers with humor and wit. During this time, Aaron's heartfelt speaking style drew invitations from all over America.
